ORION Platform

 

The MARS Orion Platform is the foundation of an all-new and innovative design

and classification of firearm.  The ORION Platform is based on John M. Browning's long 

recoil action, but modernized and brought into the 21st century.  Our system, currently

chambered in .308/7.62 NATO, may look like an AR-style rifle but it is completely different.  

The ORION has been designed and built from the ground up to be modular, customizable,

and a joy and ease to operate and maintain.

When fired, its barrel and bolt carrier recoil into the upper receiver the full length

of the action.  This takes the energy spike that is felt in the shoulder and smooths

it out over a longer period, resulting in a very light and slow push, rather than a sudden kick.

Our two-piece upper receiver allows for quick, easy, no-tool access to the inside

of the receiver.  This gives the end user the ability to do a barrel and/or caliber change in 60 seconds or less with no special tools or skills required.  Our proprietary straight pull bolt carrier needs less energy to cycle, ultimately resulting in an even lighter felt impulse on the shooter.
